After the accidental group chat, he ends up somewhere in Miami, ready to take on the world in the next three days before he needs to prove to his boss that he has the talent and prowess to stay and work for the company. While he has a hard time fitting in with people half his age, things slowly start to work out for him. However, when the party starts going awry and the group gets in trouble with the law, things start to change for him.From getting drugged to swimming with sharks, and even crashing a local yacht party held by a local mafia boss. The group of five gets in some serious trouble throughout the film.Slowly, as the group bonds together, Mason, the groom-to-be, starts talking about his love for his fiancée and how loyal he is to her, making Joe realise that the way he treated Jennifer was wrong, and how her wanting to settle down after being with him for so long was not a big ask. Throughout the film, Joe realises small things about his life, including how the definition of fun changes for everyone with time and age, and that there is nothing wrong with all of that.

The film ends with Joe finally realising his true potential and worth. Instead of presenting his boss with another presentation that the boss could reject, Joe resigns and instead starts his own advertising agency, which he can start from anywhere in the world. He also ends up apologising to Jennifer after getting down from his high horse. Not only that, but he ends up supporting her in her endeavours and shifting for her so that she can continue her medical career without any hassle.

The famed director behind the OTT film recently got candid about the film’s themes. While talking to Netflix, he states, “Kevin [and] the crew – Marcello [Hernández], Mason [Gooding], Ben [Marshall], and Kam [Patterson] — are a dynamic team that you just cannot miss.”Ben Marshall, who plays one of the lead stars in the OTT film also joins in and jokes, “72 Hours is, in many ways, the story of Kevin Hart realizing he’s old now,” with Hernández adding on and saying that, “[It’s] Kevin Hart trying to fit in with the young guys, which is very real in his personal life from what I have read.”
