NEW DELHI: PM Narendra Modi on Tuesday told top officials of key economic ministries that govt must remain youthful and forward looking, a message that came days after he took to Instagram amid Gen Z-led protests against paper leaks.“…a govt must always remain youthful, dynamic, forward-looking, continuously adapting to new challenges and opportunities with agility and innovation,” PM was quoted as saying in a statement issued after his meet with secretaries and officials of ministries dealing with finance, commerce, industry and technology.He also called for the active participation of young entrepreneurs in key sectors, while asking officials to devise courses in consultation with the industry so that the workforce is equipped with skills required in emerging sectors.While education institutions have been producing a large number of engineers, professionals and graduates, often skill gap has emerged as a challenge for industry and govt’s skilling initiative through the internship scheme has not had the desired impactso far.The other strong message was on addressing disinformation. “PM also emphasised the importance of proactive communication on strategic sectors where the country is undertaking major initiatives, to counter misinformation and unfounded fears surrounding such efforts,” the statement said.He also underlined the need to keep citizens at the centre of every policy and decision. “Emphasising that reforms are not merely a fashionable term but a continuous necessity for effective governance, PM stressed the need to reform processes, improve work culture and strengthen institutional efficiency,”
