He also questioned the police’s priorities, saying, “50% of Lok Sabha MPs have criminal cases against them, close to 100 MPs in the BJP. The Police can focus their energy towards them, not a 25-year-old! Harassment of the young must STOP immediately!”His remarks came days after the Noida Police registered an FIR against Singh over allegedly objectionable comments directed at the Prime Minister during the CJP’s ‘Sanasd Chalo’ march over the alleged NEET paper leak.According to police, the case was registered following a complaint alleging that Singh used abusive language against the Prime Minister in a video circulated on social media. She has been booked under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for statements allegedly intended to provoke a breach of peace. The FIR is part of a wider crackdown following the CJP-led protests, during which police in multiple states registered cases against several protesters over alleged violence and other offences.Meanwhile, the party is repeatedly demanding that criminal cases registered against students and participants in the agitation be withdrawn.
