How Does It Work?
Many high-speed cameras are placed around the stadium. These cameras record the ball from the moment the bowler releases it until it reaches the batter.
A computer uses the camera footage to create the ball’s path. If the ball hits the batter’s pad, the system predicts where the ball would have gone if the pad had not stopped it.
The umpire uses this information to decide whether the ball would have hit the stumps.
