Morgan Freeman prepares to release his first-ever music project
According to Rolling Stone, Morgan Freeman is set to release his first-ever music project. The project is titled ‘Morgan Freeman’s Symphonic Blues Experience’, and features many other musicians alongside the veteran actor. It will officially be released on streaming platforms on August 14.The project will feature 12 songs, with Morgan Freeman appearing as the narrator and producer to guide listeners from one song to the next. Specifically focusing on the blues genre, the album is set to explore the genre’s history, meant to take fans through a journey over the past 100 years.Artists featured in the project include Ground Zero Blues Club Band, with orchestral contributions by the Chineke! Orchestra at London’s Abbey Road Studios, as well as Taj Mahal, Keb’ Mo’, Shemekia Copeland, Alvin Youngblood Hart, and Anthony “Big A” Sherrod. As Freeman announced the project in an official statement, he shared, “I heard the blues for the first time on my grandmother’s porch in the Mississippi Delta, and it has never left me.” The project will also have a live counterpart, which will use Freeman’s narration, cinematic visuals, live blues performances, and a symphony orchestra.Though this is his first major music project, the actor has been connected to the blues genre for more than 25 years. He is one of the co-founders of the Ground Zero Blues Club in Clarksdale.Meanwhile, Morgan Freeman is busy with the third season of ‘Lioness,’ which will be streamed on Paramount Plus.
