Taylor Swift’s music has disappeared from several social media videos posted by US President Donald Trump’s campaign and the White House after her songs were repeatedly used in Trump-related content in recent months.One of the affected videos was posted by the Team Trump TikTok account on August 3, The Guardian reported. It showed Trump and first lady Melania Trump watching fireworks while Swift’s 2020 song “August” played in the background. The accompanying caption appeared to poke fun at the singer, saying she would be “super excited” that her song had been used. The video now plays without the track.Another campaign post played on the title of Swift’s 2012 album “Red”, linking it to the Republican Party and reworking references to some of her song titles into political messages about Trump, the US border and the Biden-Harris administration. That video has also gone silent.Entertainment Weekly reported that attempts to access “August” through the TikTok post produced a notice saying the copyright owner had not made the sound available in the user’s country. It also reported that “Father Figure”, used in an earlier Team Trump video, was no longer available on that post.The removals follow several instances in which Trump’s campaign or the White House used Swift’s music. In April, a White House video showing members of the Artemis II crew meeting Trump featured “High Infidelity”, while a November 2025 post used “The Fate of Ophelia” from her album “The Life of a Showgirl”. Neither the White House nor Swift’s representative immediately commented on the removals, Reuters reported.

Swift has not recently commented on Trump, but their political feud stretches back years. During the 2020 presidential campaign, she publicly criticised him and said he was “WELL AWARE we do not want him as our president”. In 2024, she endorsed Trump’s Democratic rival Kamala Harris after Trump shared AI-generated images falsely portraying her as endorsing him.Trump responded to Swift’s Harris endorsement with an emphatic “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!” on social media. He returned to the feud in 2025, questioning whether she was still “HOT” after his attack on her, making the disappearance of Swift’s music from Trump-linked posts another chapter in their long-running public feud.
