BHUBANESWAR: Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) authorities lodged a police complaint against a woman passenger for alleged unruly behaviour, damaging airport property and creating a ruckus at the departure lounge of the airport here on Thursday after an IndiGo flight to Kolkata was cancelled due to a technical snag.According to the complaint filed with Airfield police station, the passenger, identified as Mamoni Kharat, was scheduled to travel on the 6E 7352 IndiGo flight to Kolkata.The complaint stated that the incident occurred around 6 pm on Thursday in the presence of officials from Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and IndiGo, besides Airports Authority of India staff.AAI alleged that the passenger damaged a monitor, a keyboard and a passport-swiping machine, incurring estimated losses of Rs 49,000.BPIA authorities requested police to take appropriate action and recover the cost of the damaged equipment from the passenger. Meanwhile, a video purportedly showing the passenger’s unruly behaviour at the airport surfaced on social media and quickly went viral.The footage shows a heated altercation and alleged damage to airport infrastructure following the flight cancellation.
