Sridevi’s niece Maheswari posts unseen pictures of her ‘Pappakka’ on her 63rd birth anniversary. Watch

Actor Sridevi died at age 54 in 2018, but she would’ve turned 63 on August 13 this year if she were alive. On her birth anniversary, her family and friends mourned her passing. Her niece, actor Maheswari, dug out old unseen pictures and wrote about how much she misses her ‘Pappakka’.

Maheswari posts unseen pictures of Sridevi

To mark Sridevi’s 63rd birth anniversary, Maheswari wrote, “Happiest birthday Pappakka..Miss you more…Love you more,” with heart emojis. She also posted numerous unseen pictures in a Reel. A young Sridevi is dressed in a pattu saree and holds a bouquet in her hand as Maheswari, who’s only a few years old, stands next to her in one of the pictures. She posted numerous pictures with Sridevi from her childhood.

Another picture shows them both sitting at a table, with broad smiles on their faces as they converse with others. A picture even shows Sridevi serving food to others, with her saree draped in a traditional manner. The jewellery and accessories make her look similar to her Malini Iyer character on the TV show. Maheswari also posted candid moments of Sridevi, taken at various instances throughout their lives. One picture shows Maheswari, all grown up, posing with her aunt.

About Sridevi and Maheswari

Sridevi’s mother, Rajeshwari, had a daughter named Suryakala from a previous marriage. Sridevi and Sreelatha were born when she married again. Suryakala’s children, Maheswari and Avishek Karthik, decided to follow in aunt Sridevi’s footsteps and become actors.

Maheswari began her career at just 17 with the 1994 Tamil film Karuththamma. She starred in the 1995 film Gulabi, which made her a household name. She quit the film industry in 2000 after Tirumala Tirupati Venkatesa. After marrying engineer Jayakrishna in 2008, she ventured into television with My Name is Manga Tayaru.

Later on, Maheswari also designed outfits for Sridevi, which she wore in some advertisements and award shows. She called her aunt her ‘backbone’ while talking to DC about her foray into fashion designing in 2014. In 2018, Sridevi died from accidental drowning in a bathtub while attending her nephew Mohit Marwah’s wedding in the UAE. She died on February 24.

Sridevi and Boney Kapoor’s daughters, Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor, have since ventured into acting. Janhvi last starred in the Telugu film Peddi. Khushi starred in Nadaaniyan and will star in the sequel to her mother’s 2017 hit, Mom 2. Janhvi will star in Lag Ja Gale.
