Suriya and Mamitha Baiju’s ‘Vishwanath and Sons’ continued its box office journey on Tuesday. The film witnessed a decline in its daily earnings after collecting Rs 7.80 Cr on Monday. According to Sacnilk, the movie earned Rs 6.35 Cr in India net on Day 5.This represents an 18.6% drop compared with the previous day’s collection. Despite the decline, the film maintained a steady presence across theatres. Worldwide collection reaches Rs 128.60 Cr
The Suriya and Mamitha Baiju starrer also continued to earn from overseas markets. The movie added Rs 2.00 Cr to its overseas gross collection on Day 5.The overseas gross has now reached Rs 45.00 Cr. This takes the worldwide gross collection of ‘Vishwanath and Sons’ to Rs 128.60 Cr.The Tamil version collected Rs 3.15 Cr with 21% occupancy. It recorded 3,054 shows across the country.The Telugu version performed slightly better in terms of occupancy. It earned Rs 3.20 Cr from 1,967 shows and recorded 29% occupancy.
Tamil and Telugu versions show strong night occupancy
The Tamil version of ‘Vishwanath and Sons’ recorded an overall occupancy of 25.46% on Day 5. Morning shows registered 18.69% occupancy, while afternoon shows reached 25.77%.Evening shows recorded 26.38% occupancy. Night shows performed better at 31%.The Telugu version recorded a higher overall occupancy of 33.98%. Morning shows stood at 20.08%, while afternoon shows registered 33.08%.Evening occupancy reached 36.25%. Night shows recorded the highest figure at 46.50%.
State-wise figures for ‘Vishwanath and Sons’
The movie also recorded contributions from several major markets on Day 5. Andhra Pradesh and Telangana together contributed Rs 3.50 Cr in gross collections.Tamil Nadu followed with Rs 2.35 Cr. Karnataka added Rs 78 lakhs to the day’s total. Kerala contributed Rs 55 lakhs.The rest of India contributed Rs 15 lakhs. The combined state-wise gross collection reported for the day stood at Rs 7.33 Cr.
‘Jana Nayagan’ remains ahead with Rs 323.01 Cr worldwide
Meanwhile, Thalapathy Vijay’s ‘Jana Nayagan’ has earned Rs 197.08 Cr in India net so far.Its India gross collection stands at Rs 229.51 Cr. The film has also earned Rs 93.50 Cr from overseas markets. ‘Jana Nayagan’ has reached a worldwide gross of Rs 323.01 Cr.
