Sandra Bullock remembers ex-Bryan Randall
Three years ago, Bullock’s longtime partner Bryan Randall passed away after being diagnosed with ALS. While talking on the ‘SmartLess’ podcast, Bullock fondly recalled her partner, whom she had been with since 2015, and whom she had helped deal with the terminal diagnosis through the years.Page Six reported that during the podcast episode, which was released early to subscribers, Bullock shared, “He asked me not to share. I know why he asked me not to.” She added, “I wasn’t allowed to speak about it. That was the request. I wasn’t even allowed to tell Amanda [Anka, Bateman’s wife]. I wasn’t allowed to tell anybody. My sister [Gesine Bullock-Prado] was the only one who knew for a while.”The actress, who is returning to the big screen with Nicole Kidman for ‘Practical Magic 2’ soon, revealed that the situation was quite grim and isolating for her. She further shared that while caring for Randall, she also had to be there for their children: Louis and Laila and Randall’s daughter Skylar. Bullock called the situation “a trifecta that was pretty dark” and further detailed how she had started grieving her partner years before he actually passed away.She added, “I think where he was in his journey, both physically and mentally, I started grieving Bryan four years before he passed. There was something that had shifted. My person left a lot earlier than the body left. I don’t think I ever dealt with that until after he passed, because you’re just on this treadmill.”

According to reports from Cleveland Clinic, ALS, also known as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, is “a neurodegenerative condition that affects how nerve cells communicate with your muscles. It leads to muscle weakness that gets worse over time. Symptoms can affect how you move, speak, and breathe. ALS treatment includes therapies and medications to manage symptoms and slow the progression of the disease.”
