After a blockbuster opening of Rs. 101.10 crore net on Day 1, the Geetu Mohandas directorial’s India gross currently stands at Rs. 280.66 crore, while its worldwide gross had reached Rs. 322 crore by the end of Day 8. With the Rs 250 crore India net milestone still an elusive feat, owing to mixed reviews and backlash, the film now grapples to sustain its momentum over the second weekend amid a surge in footfalls for Vishal Chaturvedi’s devotional biopic on Neem Karoli Baba that has now been declared as a sleeper hit, ‘Hanuman Ansh’. Its next major worldwide target could be the Rs. 350 crore mark, although the pace of collections in the coming days will determine how quickly it gets there.With the India net collection currently at Rs. 235.05 crore, the immediate target for ‘Toxic’ is the Rs. 250 crore milestone. The film needs roughly Rs. 14.95 crore more to reach that figure, making it a realistic short-term target if the second weekend delivers a healthy boost. The worldwide gross is another area to watch. Having crossed Rs. 320 crore, the film can now set its sights on Rs. 350 crore worldwide. ‘Toxic’ opened to a massive Rs. 101.10 crore India net on Day 1 before witnessing a sharp correction over the following days. The film collected Rs. 37.65 crore on Day 2, Rs. 27.20 crore on Day 3, Rs. 25.15 crore on Day 4 and Rs. 23 crore on Day 5. Collections subsequently settled into single-digit territory, with Day 6 bringing in Rs 7.65 crore and Day 7 contributing Rs. 7.85 crore. On Day 8, the film added Rs. 5.10 crore net across 12,432 shows. This took its India net total to Rs. 234.70 crore and India gross to Rs. 280.25 crore.The overseas market has also provided a sizeable contribution to the film’s overall theatrical haul. ‘Toxic’ opened with Rs 20 crore overseas gross on Day 1, followed by Rs. 8 crore on Day 2 and Rs. 3.50 crore on Day 3. By the end of Day 5, the film had accumulated Rs. 29.25 crore overseas gross. It added another Rs. 2 crore on Day 6 and Rs. 1.50 crore on Day 7, taking the overseas total to Rs. 40.75 crore. Day 8 brought in another Rs 1 crore, pushing the overseas gross to Rs. 41.75 crore. With its domestic and international earnings combined, ‘Toxic’ had reached approximately Rs. 322 crore worldwide by the end of Day 8.
