Rajasthan Royals (RR) could make some changes to their team before IPL 2027. The team has many young and talented players, but some players did not get many chances in IPL 2026.
RR may release a few players and use the money to buy better options at the next auction. Here are five players RR could release before IPL 2027.
1. Dasun Shanaka
Dasun Shanaka could be one player RR may release. He played seven matches in IPL 2026 but scored only 63 runs and took one wicket.
RR already have other all-rounders. They may use his overseas spot for another player.
2. Tushar Deshpande
Tushar Deshpande could also be released by RR. He played seven matches in IPL 2026 and took four wickets.
RR have several Indian fast bowlers in their squad. The team may look for another pacer before IPL 2027.
3. Adam Milne
Adam Milne could be another player RR may release. The New Zealand fast bowler was bought for ₹2.40 crore at the IPL 2026 auction.
However, he played only one match in the season. RR may decide to use his overseas spot on another player.
4. Sushant Mishra
Sushant Mishra could also be on RR’s release list. He played two matches in IPL 2026 and took two wickets.
RR have many Indian bowling options. The team could make space for another bowler before the next auction.
5. Yash Raj Punja
Yash Raj Punja could also be considered for release. He played eight matches in IPL 2026 and took nine wickets.
RR may want to bring in players who can have a bigger role in the team. This could make Punja’s future uncertain.

RR could make changes before IPL 2027
Rajasthan Royals have a strong group of young players. Riyan Parag, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Dhruv Jurel are important players for the team.
RR may not make many changes to their main group. However, releasing a few players could give them more money and space at the IPL 2027 auction.
The five players above are only possible release names. RR have not officially announced their IPL 2027 release list yet.
