While Maaz Sadaqat and Hunain Shah could not end up on the winning side, having lost to the Antigua & Barbuda Falcons in the CPL 2026 final, they ended up with plenty to write home about.
Hunain tops the charts
Hunain Shah is the joint-highest wicket-taker in the league, sharing a tally of 16 wickets each with Imran Tahir, Alzarri Joseph, and Matthew Forde. Hunain could only bowl 2.1 overs in the final after having to leave the field. Bowling the first ball of his third over, Hunain fell during his follow-through. He got on to deliver the next ball but pulled out of his run-up, with pain visible on his face. The team physio escorted him out.
He could not take a single wicket during the final but averaged 22.62 throughout the tournament, taking four two-wicket hauls in 13 games.
Maaz’s century takes him up to 3rd
Maaz Sadaqat, meanwhile, struck his second century of the season in the final and was one of the few bright spots for Jamaica Kingsmen. Scoring two centuries, he joined a list of only four players to do so in the CPL. Besides him, Shimron Hetmyer also achieved the same feat this year, the first time a batter had done so since 2017.
The century took Maaz’s run tally to 363, making him the third-highest run-scorer of the league this year.
