Vivek Oberoi has spoken in support of Salman Khan’s recent comments on online trolling. Salman had called out social media users for body-shaming and age-shaming celebrities, questioning why people resort to abusing actors simply because they do not approve of their work. His comments received support from several celebrities, including Varun Dhawan, Neha Dhupia and filmmaker Rohit Shetty. Vivek has now also agreed with Salman’s stance, saying there is no reason to engage in negativity.Vivek was recently spotted spending time with children battling cancer at an event organised by the Cancer Patients Aid Association (CPAA). During a conversation with Bollywood Chronicle, he was asked about Salman speaking against trolls on ‘Bigg Boss 20’. Vivek said, “Kuch nahi yaar, mujhe lagta hai trolling wagera karna bhi nahi chahiye. Trolling is a very negative thing, and there are a lot of positive things to do in life kya negative mein padhe ho (Nothing, yaar. I feel people shouldn’t troll others either. Trolling is a very negative thing, and there are so many positive things to do in life. Why get caught up in negativity?).”Salman had addressed the issue of online trolling during the latest Weekend Ka Vaar episode of ‘Bigg Boss 20’. Talking about the scrutiny faced by celebrities over their appearance, the actor revealed that he has also been targeted online and has been called “budha”, while social media users have also mocked his new bald look.The superstar also came to Katrina Kaif’s defence after she faced criticism over her post-pregnancy appearance. Referring to the trolling directed at the actress, Salman said, “Everyone puts on weight after getting pregnant. When she returns to films, she will get back in shape. She wants to spend time with her family.”Salman also addressed the comments aimed at his own physique. In response to those who had body-shamed him, he removed his T-shirt and showed off his toned physique. He explained that his bald look was for an upcoming film and also spoke about the recent death of one of his close friends. Calling out those who make money by putting others down, Salman described online trolls as “parasites”.
