England Announce 15-Player Squad for ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup 2027- IPL

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) have announced their 15-player squad for the ICC Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup 2027. England are the first team to announce their squad for the tournament, which will be hosted by Nepal and Bangladesh in January and February 2027.

England will start their preparations with training camps in the UK. They will then travel to India for a five-match T20 series in November and December 2026. The team will stay in India for another week after the series for outdoor training and to get used to the conditions.

Chris Guest Wants Strong Preparation

England head coach Chris Guest said the team wants to enter the World Cup with better preparation than previous campaigns. The extra time in India will allow the players to train outdoors and play in conditions similar to those they will face at the World Cup.

“This is an exciting opportunity for this group of players who will be the best prepared squad we will have sent to the U19 Women’s World Cup. The aspiration as always is to win the U19 World Cup.”

“Taking on board learnings from previous campaigns, we have gone about things slightly differently this time, ensuring that our players are getting some game time outdoors much closer to the tournament.”

Phoebe Brett Only Player Returning From 2025

Phoebe Brett is the only player from England’s 2025 World Cup squad to return for the 2027 tournament. The 18-year-old will be part of the main squad again. Maria Andrews has also made the 15-player squad after previously being a non-travelling reserve during preparations for the 2025 tournament in Malaysia.

The squad also includes Amelie Bishop, Eliza Bristowe, Flora Davies, Holly Garton, Bryony Gillgrass, Genevieve Jeer, Amelia Oliver, Shristi Patil, Prarthana Reddy, Faith Teekasingh, Clara Thaker, Skye Thomas and Venus Weerappuli.

England have also named five non-travelling reserves. Ava Clive, Ivreen Dhaliwal, Libby Fellows, Lucy Randle-Bissell and Isobel Thorndike will remain part of the winter programme. They will also be involved in the extra training period in India after the T20 series.

England Looking to Go Further in 2027

The 2027 tournament will have 16 teams. The competition will include the group stage, Super Sixes and knockout matches. Nepal will host an ICC global tournament for the first time. India will enter the tournament as the defending champions.

England reached the final of the first U19 Women’s T20 World Cup in 2023. They lost to India in the final in South Africa. In 2025, England reached the semi-finals in Malaysia. They went unbeaten in the group stage and Super Sixes before losing to India in the last four. England beat Pakistan, the United States and New Zealand during the 2025 tournament. Their matches against Ireland and Nigeria were washed out.

India ended England’s campaign in the semi-final at Bayuemas Oval. England scored 113/8 after choosing to bat first. Davina Perrin made 45, but India chased the target in 15 overs. They finished on 117/1 and won by nine wickets.
