Sky Sports will broadcast all seven games of the Pakistan Tri-series, involving Sri Lanka and England. The ODI Tri-series, set to begin on October 18, was earlier at risk of not being shown in the UK, with no broadcasters interested in airing the away series.
Sky Sports reach agreement with the PCB
However, Sky Sports bagged a last-minute deal with Trans Group, a Lahore-based agency who were sold TV rights by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to be distributed in the UK.
There were some reports that Sky could go beyond the tri-series to show the T20I and Test series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka, which will flank the Tri-series at both ends; however, that seems to have fallen through, as the broadcaster confirmed showing only the Tri-series.
“Sky Sports will broadcast England’s one-day international tri-series against Pakistan and Sri Lanka in full this October,” confirmed the broadcaster on Wednesday
“A deal agreed between Sky Sports and the Pakistan Cricket Board means all seven matches held across Lahore and Rawalpindi will be shown live on Sky Sports and NOW.”
Pakistan ODI Tri-series Schedule
England will play four games, two each against Sri Lanka and Pakistan, during the Tri-series, which could be bumped up to five, should they make it to the final. The series will be played across Rawalpindi and Lahore, with the first three games set to be played at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium before the series shifts to the Gaddafi Stadium.
