Pakistan have wiped the floor with Sri Lankan bowlers as they scored 215 batting first in the second T20I. Already 1-0 up in the three-game T20I series, Pakistan made Sri Lanka’s predicament graver as the batters went full throttle against them. The wreckers-in-chief were once again Maaz Sadaqat and Sahibzada Farhan.
Farhan, Maaz, and Fakhar score big
Being sent in to bat first by Sri Lanka, the two batters scored an 88-run stand off just 49 balls. This came after Fakhar Zaman and Farhan had set the tone for a quick innings, though the former only added 22 off 17 balls. Maaz and Farhan then carried on the responsibility of taking Sri Lankan bowlers to the cleaners.
Maaz, even after Farhan departed, kept on blasting the scorecard. He sent Maheesh Theekshana for 19 runs in one over, bringing himself closer to his maiden T20I ton and Pakistan to crossing the 200-run mark.
While the latter happened, as Pakistan scored 215 by the end of the innings, Maaz could not reach his century. He was dismissed on the last ball of the innings, batting at 96. He tried to go big to overcome the deficit but was caught at deep cover by Dasun Shanaka.
