The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has made tweaks to a few President’s Trophy Grade-I sixth-round matches after the government imposed an emergency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). While the remaining games will go ahead as planned, two games will see a change in venues.
Two games shifted from Abbottabad and Peshawar
Originally scheduled to be played at Imran Khan Cricket Stadium in Peshawar, the capital of KP, the game between Ghani Glass and Kingsmen Academy has been moved to Rana Naveed Cricket Academy in Sheikhupura.
Besides this, the match between Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) and Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL), initially slated to be played at Abbottabad Stadium, also in the province, has been shifted to the Lahore City Cricket Association (LCCA) Ground in Lahore.
Both games have also been postponed until October 14. The rest of the sixth-round games will be played according to the original schedule from October 12 to 15. This will be the second-to-last round of the competition, after which the top two teams will play the final, set to begin on October 24.
Currently, State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) are at the top of the table with 84 points. Trailing them are Ghani Glass in second place with 70 points, though Kingsmen Academy (66) and Pakistan Television (PTV) (64) aren’t far behind.
The next and final round also has two games scheduled for Peshawar and Abbottabad, though the board hasn’t yet confirmed any tweaks to the schedule for those games.
