This player is just 23 years of age and has been playing for the club known as Adelaide Strikers for the tournament. Due to the problem of a disc in her back, Darcie had to fly home early from her trip to India. She was also not able to play in the ODI series of Australia against Bangladesh and the T20I series against New Zealand due to her back injury. Before this, selector Shawn Flegler of Australia was hopeful that Brown would recover in time to participate in at least the latter part of the tournament; however, now, Cricket Australia has confirmed that she will miss the tournament altogether.

“Brown was assessed following her return home from India last month, and following a period of de-loading, her injury has not yet recovered to a point where she is ready to resume training. As a result, she will be unable to return to full fitness in time for the upcoming WBBL season,” Cricket Australia said in a statement.

According to Shawn Flegler, Darcie Brown continues to be included in Australia’s plans for the first Women’s Champions Trophy to be held in 2027 even as she is ruled out of the WBBL this season. Fans must be hoping for her full recovery to watch her play in the tournament. The next WBBL season is set to start on October 29 where the first match will be between the Melbourne Renegades Women and Sydney Thunder Women.
