Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced separate rewards for teams playing Pakistan Super League (PSL) final.
Prize money for finalists
The winner of the league will be awarded USD 500,000 while the runners-up will end up with USD 300,000 prize money.
Additionally, the PCB has also allotted USD 200,000 for the franchise with the best player development efforts.
“For the first time in the history of the HBL PSL, a separate reward has been set for the franchises, with the winning franchise getting USD 500,000, runners-up will get USD 300,000, while the franchise with the best player development efforts will bag USD 200,000. The tournament winning prize for players will comprise of USD 500,000,” the PCB said in a statement.
League’s growth
This decision comes in the wake of the board’s chairman Mohsin Naqvi’s previous announcement regarding development of a new reward framework for franchises in the upcoming editions in line with the league’s growth as it enters its eleventh season.
Peshawar and Hyderabad will face each other in the PSL final on May 3 at Gaddafi Stadium. Hyderabad booked a place in the final after winning Eliminator 2 in a last-ball thriller while Zalmi got on the smoother route by winning the Qualifier. This will be Peshawar’s fifth final in PSL history, though they have won only one trophy. Hyderabad, on the other hand, have made it to the final in their debut campaign.
