The movie received a strong response from audiences and reportedly crossed Rs 600 crore at the box office. Following that success, the team quickly began work on the second part. Recently, the makers announced that the film’s shooting was almost complete.
Tragic incident at ‘Jailer 2’ set during ECR film shoot
Even after the main schedule wrapped up, the team continued shooting a few pending scenes at Adityaram Film City on Chennai’s East Coast Road (ECR). Several technicians and workers were involved in the shoot. During the work, a tragic accident reportedly took place on the set. According to Nakkheeran, Karthikeyan, an electrician from Salem working for the film unit, was electrocuted while carrying out his duties. When the staff found out what had happened they rushed to his aid and tried to take him to the hospital. However, he eventually died from injuries sustained during the accident.
Rajinikanth and team left heartbroken
This unfortunate event has brought a gloomy environment around the cast and crew of ‘Jailer 2’. Apart from Rajinikanth, some of the other well-known actors in this film are Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Santhanam, and Vasanth Ravi. Many had been waiting for the film to come to life, but they have lost hope after hearing about the demise of the talented person in question.
Police investigation underway
It is reported that after the unfortunate incident took place, Kanathur Police Station has lodged a case and started an investigation. They are presently investigating the spot where the incident happened to check whether all necessary safety steps were taken. An error has been found regarding the electricity arrangements.
