Sunrisers Hyderabad booked their place in the IPL 2026 playoffs after pulling off a solid five-wicket win against Chennai Super Kings at Chepauk on Monday. Chasing under pressure in Chennai is never easy, but SRH held their nerve and got the job done comfortably. Their victory also helped Gujarat Titans officially qualify for the playoffs, making them the third team to secure a spot in the knockout stage.
Even though CSK ended up on the losing side, their campaign is not over yet. The five-time champions still have a small chance of making it through as the fourth playoff team, but they now depend heavily on other match results going in their favour. With the competition getting tighter, every remaining game could change the playoff picture completely.
Earlier on Sunday, Royal Challengers Bengaluru became the first side to qualify for the IPL 2026 playoffs after defeating Punjab Kings in Dharamshala. The win pushed RCB to the top of the points table with 18 points and continued their impressive run this season. With form and momentum on their side, Bengaluru now look like one of the strongest contenders for the title.
