Ram Charan’s sports drama, Peddi, has hit the screens today (June 4). The film, directed by Buchi Babu Sana, is one of the most heavily anticipated Telugu films of recent times. Buoyed by Ram Charan’s star power, the film has amassed impressive numbers in advance bookings and looks set for a massive start at the box office.

Peddi advance booking
Peddi sold over 82 lakh tickets across India on the day before its release. Sacnilk reported that the film grossed over ₹20 crore in India on day 1 before the first shows even began screening. Adding blocked seats, the figure goes up to an impressive ₹33 crore. This is largely on the back of the original Telugu version, with other language dubs almost drawing a blank. The Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam dubs accounted for only ₹75 lakh in advance bookings. The film narrowly missed setting a new record for Ram Charan. The advance bookings for his previous film, Game Changer, were close to ₹27 crore.
Peddi box office prediction
Nevertheless, Peddi is poised for a grand start at the box office. Trade pundits indicate that after adding the collections from paid previews, Peddi stands to earn ₹60 crore net ( ₹70+ crore gross) in India on its opening day. This would be the third-best start for an Indian film in 2026, behind Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar 2 ( ₹102 crore) and Prabhas’ The RajaSaab ( ₹62 crore). However, the figure would be enough to beat some big films, such as the first Dhurandhar ( ₹30 crore) and Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan ( ₹57 crore).
Overseas, Peddi is expected to rake in over $3 million. This will bring its day 1 global haul to ₹100+ crore, making it Ram Charan’s second solo film (and third overall, including RRR) to do so.
