Alia Bhatt and Sharvari cheer for women’s cricket team
On Thursday, Alia took to Instagram to share a video where she is seen alongside her Alpha co-star Sharvari. In the video, the duo celebrate the Indian Women’s Cricket Team. The actors showered praise on the players, calling them a source of inspiration and expressing how proud they are of the women in blue.
The video opens with Alia being asked a simple question: who inspires her the most? Without missing a beat, the actor says “the Indian cricket team”. She goes on to praise the players with Sharvari, going on to mention Jemimah Rodrigues, Smriti Mandhana and Harmanpreet Kaur. “They all are too good,” Alia exclaims.
The moment took an interesting turn when the interviewer sought to clarify, asking, “You mean the women’s cricket team?” Alia was quick to correct the distinction, replying, “That’s what I said – the Indian cricket team.”
The video was posted with a caption that read, “From 2 Alphas to Team India’s 15 Alphas! The message is clear, loud & proud… Team same, toh jazba bhi same! ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 starts 12th June!”
