Ranveer Singh’s father thanked Poonam Dhillon, has no animosity towards Farhan Akhtar

Poonam was vocal in her support of Ranveer when the FWICE announced the non-cooperation against him. She told the publication that, as far as she knew, the actor had an ‘excellent relationship’ with the production house, as he had worked with them on Gully Boy (2019) and Dil Dhadakne Do (2015). She clarified that her support is for Ranveer as well as Farhan, since he’s an actor too.

Poonam revealed about Ranveer’s father thanking her and said, “I spoke to Ranveer’s father at length and we have been corresponding on WhatsApp. He has thanked me for our support. We spoke to them to understand the situation. He told me they had been interacting with Excel Entertainment and how close and fond he is of Farhan and the Excel team. There’s no animosity from his side.”

She also added that, however, they are not happy with the FWICE, stating, “They were not happy with the way FWICE had handled it. I asked him whether CINTAA could be of help. But he said, ‘We didn’t involve you because we didn’t want to trouble you and we’re already in the process of sorting it out.’ Technically, he didn’t need our intervention. I’m glad the matter has been resolved in a positive manner.”

What happened

In 2023, Farhan announced that Ranveer would take over from Shah Rukh Khan in Don 3. However, the film took time to materialise. After the success of Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar and before the release of Dhurandhar: The Revenge, there were rumours of a feud between Ranveer and Farhan over Don 3.

Things came to a head when the FWICE issued a directive to non-cooperate with Ranveer and asked filmmakers not to work with him. Amid pushback, the association rolled back the directive. Ranveer sent a legal notice to the film workers’ body on Tuesday. On Wednesday, FWICE president BN Tiwari revealed that the legal notice challenged their decision to issue a non-cooperation directive against him and demanded that the federation withdraw it within 48 hours. However, Tiwari claimed that the federation had already decided to revoke the directive before receiving the legal notice.
