With a PCT of 75.00, the Proteas are enjoying a strong campaign and remain one of the leading contenders for a place in the championship decider. Sri Lanka are currently third, having accumulated 16 points from two matches and a healthy PCT of 66.67.
New Zealand and Bangladesh are tied on 28 points and share an identical PCT of 58.33. However, New Zealand are placed fourth, while Bangladesh sit fifth on the table. Both teams remain firmly in contention and will be looking to capitalize on their upcoming fixtures to climb higher in the standings.
India, led by Shubman Gill, have slipped to sixth place following their disappointing home Test series defeat against South Africa. The Men in Blue have played nine matches, winning four, losing four, and drawing one. Their tally of 52 points gives them a PCT of 48.15, leaving them with plenty of work to do in the remainder of the cycle.
England Move Up but Remain Seventh
England’s victory over New Zealand provided a much-needed boost, but the team remains seventh in the standings. Having played the most matches among all teams, England have won four, lost six, and drawn one. Additionally, they have been docked two points for slow over-rate offences, reducing their total to 50 points and a PCT of 37.88.
Pakistan’s campaign has been hampered by poor results and disciplinary penalties. The side has managed just one win from four matches and has been penalized eight points for slow over rates. As a result, Pakistan sit eighth on the table with only four points and a PCT of 8.33.
West Indies remain rooted to the bottom of the standings after a difficult start to the cycle. The Caribbean side is still searching for its first victory, having lost seven of its eight matches while drawing one. They have collected just four points and currently possess the lowest PCT of 4.17.
Under the WTC 2025-27 points system, teams receive 12 points for a win, six points for a tie, and four points for a draw. Rankings are determined by the percentage of points won rather than total points accumulated. The top two teams at the end of the cycle will qualify for the World Test Championship Final in 2027, while point deductions for slow over-rate violations can play a crucial role in shaping the final standings.
