Here to show something – That is the aim of Netherlands’ senior ROBINE RIJKE, as she gives a candid interview to Aussie legend Matthew Hayden. On her playing her 100th WT20I, Rijke says that it is an unbelievable experience playing Australia. Adds that one doesn’t get to do this everyday, so it is pretty exciting. Adds that 100 T20Is feel like a lot. Reminds us that Babette de Leede, her skipper, is also playing her 100th WT20I, and also the fact that the two have been playing for a long time and haven’t missed a game for around 12 YEARS. Haydos brings her to the reality, informing her about Netherlands’ position (indirectly stating that this is like a must-win game for them) and politely asks her how can they get better. To this, Robine replies saying that Australia are an amazing unit teams skills wise and consistency wise. Stresses that it is amazing for the Dutch to be at the World Cup, and that was their biggest goal, but now, they want to aim bigger. RR details that they want to show the world that they can do well with multiple careers, that is, be a professional and also play cricket and also study. Asserts that they are here to show something and not just be here. Hopes to get some wickets and runs and inspire some people in Netherlands to take up cricket as a sport and profession.
