Petrol bomb hurled at BJP leader's husband Dr Tarsem Garg's clinic in Punjab
Unidentified assailants on a motorbike hurled a petrol bomb at Dr. Tarsem Garg’s clinic in Bathinda late Monday night.

BATHINDA: Two unidentified persons on a bike thrown a petrol bomb at the clinic of Dr Tarsem Garg late Monday night.The burning petrol bottle fell in the courtyard of the clinic. No loss of life has been reported and an Activa scooter parked in the courtyard was burnt to some extent.As per Dr Tarsem Garg, he got a call from his driver and accountant who were in the clinic that some persons had thrown a petrol bottle at the clinic at about 10pm. When checked the CCTV it was found that two people on a motorbike threw the petrol bottle at the clinic.Dr Tarsem Garg’s wife had contested the recently held Bathinda Municipal Corporation elections as a nominee of BJP and RSS’ Bathinda district office is situated close to Dr Garg’s clinic.Tarsem Garg said he had no enmity with anyone and he is not sure about the motive behind the incident.Sources said the family later received a phone call from a person claiming to be Shahzad Bhatti, who allegedly took responsibility for the petrol bomb attack. Police have not officially confirmed the claim, and investigators are verifying the authenticity of the call and its possible link to the incident.Bathinda DIG Harjit Singh and SSP Jyoti Yadav visited the spot late last night to inquire about the incident.Bathinda SP City Narinder Singh said that various teams have been formed to trace and arrest the accused persons. An FIR has been registered at Bathinda Kotwali police station and further investigations are underway.
