TNPL 2026: Two-Phase Format Confirmed, Auction on July 3 in ChennaiThe Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) 2026 will be played in two phases from August 4 to August 28, according to the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association. Last season, TNPL 2025 started on June 5 and ended with the final on July 6, with all 32 matches played in a single phase.

Unlike last year, when matches were held in Dindigul, Salem, Tirunelveli, and Coimbatore, the 2026 edition will be played at only two venues.

TNPL 2026 to Be Held in Two Phases Across Two Venues

According to the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association, TNPL 2026 will be played in two phases. The first phase will be held at NPR College Ground in Natham from August 4 to August 15. The second phase of the tournament will be held at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai from August 18 to August 28. The TNCA has informed that the full schedule, information on tickets, and other information will be announced in the due course of time. The TNPL 2026 auction will be held on July 3 (Friday) at Sriraman Hall (KMK Stand, Ground Floor), Chennai, starting at 2:45 PM IST.

A total of 783 players have registered for the auction. There are no players in Category A, while 10 players are in Category B, 6 in Category C, and 767 in Category D. IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans are the defending champions, having defeated Ravichandran Ashwin’s Dindigul Dragons by 118 runs in the TNPL 2025 final 8 teams are a part of the league, namely, Dindigul Dragons, IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans, Salem Spartans, Kovai Kings, Chepauk Super Gillies, Madurai Panthers, Trichy Grand Cholas and Nellai Royal Kings.
