Abrar Ahmed is within arm’s length of the top spot in the ODI bowling rankings, currently occupied by Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan.
Abrar eyes top spot
The Pakistan mystery spinner is just seven rating points behind Rashid, with his career-best of 675. Abrar grabbed six wickets in the three-match ODI series against Australia in May-June.
Besides him, Shaheen Shah Afridi is the only other Pakistan bowler in the top ten, though he slipped one spot. Shaheen, who is also the side’s captain in the format, currently occupies the ninth position in the rankings.
The next bowler on the list is Haris Rauf, who also fell two places to 22nd.
Salman’s woeful form reflects
Among the batters, Babar Azam, the only Pakistan batter in the top ten, has moved down one place to 7th position as West Indies’ Shai Hope moved up one place to sixth. Besides him, Salman Ali Agha also dropped a spot to 18th position now while Mohammad Rizwan retained his 30th place.
Besides dropping in the batters’ rankings, Salman has also found himself out of the top ten ODI all-rounders after moving down one place. He is now the 11th-ranked all-rounder, with no other Pakistani player in the top 20. He had a miserable run in the series against Australia, where he grabbed only one wicket in three games while scoring 28 runs.
