Islamabad United announce Dipendra Singh Airee’s replacement for the remainder PSL 11- IPL

Islamabad United batter Dipendra Singh Airee is set to leave the franchise for national duty. In his stead, Islamabad have announced Sri Lankan batter Pavan Rathnayake as the replacement.

Dipendra, who was signed for PKR 4.2 million during the auction, was the only Nepali player in the league, though he did not feature in any PSL games.

Rathnayake’s T20 career

Rathnayake has never been part of any league except the Lankan Premier League (LPL), where he played four games. He was earlier unsold during the PSL auction, where he registered for PKR 6 million. Islamabad has now bought him 1.8 million for a maximum of six games (three group stages and a maximum of three playoff games).

In total, he has played 44 T20 matches, out of which 12 are for Sri Lanka in internationals. In those 12 games, he has scored 266 runs while striking at a rate of 146.96.

Islamabad are currently in second place on the PSL points table, having won four out of their seven games. They have lost two, while one game was washed out.
