Actor Fardeen Khan has shared a warm message for veteran actress Farida Jalal, recalling his long association with her and remembering the immense respect his late father, Feroz Khan, had for the actress. The post came after the two actors recently met again, with Fardeen describing the reunion as a memorable moment. Sharing a photograph with Farida Jalal on Instagram, Fardeen looked back on the days when she knew him as a young child during the filming of ‘Dharmatma’. He said those early memories had stayed with him over the years and expressed his happiness at meeting the veteran actress once again after a long gap.
Fardeen remembers his father’s admiration
In his emotional note, Fardeen revealed that Feroz Khan always spoke highly of Farida Jalal and deeply admired her talent as an actress. He also said his father enjoyed working alongside her and held her in great esteem throughout his career. Fardeen wrote, “It was such a pleasure meeting one of Hindi cinema’s finest actresses again after so many years. Farida Aunty knew me as a child during Dharmatma, and I’ve always remembered her with great affection. Khan saab held her in the highest regard as an actress and always spoke about how much he enjoyed working with her.”
A reunion after years
Fardeen also opened up on meeting Farida Jalal again and highlighted an interesting coincidence in their recent professional journey. Although they have been part of two projects together in recent years, the actors have not appeared in a single scene together. Hoping that changes in the future, he ended his message on a light-hearted note. Fardeen added, “It was wonderful seeing you yesterday, Farida Aunty. You truly made my day. Sadly, this is the second series we’ve worked on together without sharing a single scene. Maybe third time lucky.” Earlier in their careers, Fardeen and Farida worked together in the 2002 romantic drama ‘Kuch Tum Kaho Kuch Hum Kahein’. More recently, both featured in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar’, although they did not share screen space.
The legacy of ‘Dharmatma’
Released in 1975, ‘Dharmatma’ remains one of the landmark films in Feroz Khan’s career. He not only directed and produced the film but also played the lead role of Ranbir. Farida Jalal portrayed Mona, while the film also featured Hema Malini, Rekha, Premnath, Danny Denzongpa, Ranjeet, Helen , and Imtiaz Khan in important roles. With a career spanning nearly five decades, Farida Jalal has appeared in more than 200 films and remains one of Bollywood’s most admired character actors. The veteran actress was recently seen in the 2026 releases ‘O’ Romeo’ and ‘Welcome to the Jungle’.
