VISAKHAPATNAM: A six year old boy collapsed and died in a classroom of a private schools at Town Kotharoad locality under One- Town police station limits in Vizag city on Thursday with his family alleging he was beaten by a woman teacher for not completing his homework.The deceased student was identified as Pranay Tej and the incident took place at Little Garden school.The video of the incident went viral on the social media. The video shows that the teacher admonished the student and later she slapped him. The boy collapsed on the teacher lap.Though the boy was brought to KG Hospital in Vizag city, he was declared dead by the doctors.The parents and family member alleged that the boy collapsed after being beaten by the teacher.The family members staged a protest at KG Hospital demanding stringent action against the teacher and management of the school.The Police and Revenue official visited the school and KG Hospital and begun investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death.The police said the exact medical cause of the death of the student is expected to be established only after post mortem report.HRD minister Nara Lokesh expressed deep condolences over the incident and initiating action against the management of the school.
