The loud cheers at the PCA International Cricket Stadium in New Chandigarh turned into pin-drop silence as Virat Kohli was dismissed for a golden duck against West Indies in the third and final ODI on Saturday.Kohli faced just one ball before Jayden Seales knocked over his middle stump. The India batter looked stunned, stared at the pitch for a few seconds and then walked back to the dressing room.Seales bowled a 136.5kph full delivery around middle stump. Kohli took a step forward and tried to flick it away, but the ball moved slightly inwards and went through the gap between his bat and pad.The ball crashed into the middle stump, sending it flying.Seales was pumped after picking up the big wicket, while the stadium fell completely silent.Kohli, who scored 139 not out in the first ODI and then made 29 in the second ODI, appeared unable to believe what had happened. After his middle stump was uprooted, he looked back at the pitch with a surprised expression before making his way off the field.It was Kohli’s first duck since consecutive ducks against Australia in October 2025.The dismissal also put Seales in a select group of bowlers who have dismissed Kohli with the first legitimate ball he faced in an ODI.
