MUMBAI: The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has approached the BCCI with a request to move one of the three T20Is against India in Sept to Sept 14, coinciding with Ganesh Chaturthi, TOI has learnt.The series is currently scheduled to be played in New Delhi on Sept 13, 15 and 17. Sources familiar with the developments said the ACB has asked if either the first or second game could be moved to Sept 14 as “a special gesture” and to add a festive touch to the growing cricketing ties between the two countries.“As a part of a special gesture, the ACB is considering Sept 14 as one of the match dates for the India-Afghanistan T20I series, coinciding with Ganesh Chaturthi, one of India’s most widely observed and auspicious festivals. If confirmed, the fixture could add a distinctive cultural dimension to the series and create a special occasion for cricket fans around the country,” ITW Universe, which is handling the series’ media rights, on-ground branding and production, said in a release.All three matches, which are to be hosted by the ACB, will be played in New Delhi.
