All you need to know about Pakistan’s National Champions CupPakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the schedule for the four-team ODI Cup, which will be branded as the National Champions Cup. Earlier, the board decided to organise an ODI-format tournament as part of preparations for the 2027 ODI World Cup. The idea was merged with the revival of the National Champions Cup, which was discontinued following its inaugural season in 2024.

Tournament details

The tournament will be played from August 11 to 18, with all matches set to be played at Multan Cricket Stadium. Nearly all of the country’s white-ball players will feature, with the exception of those involved in the red-ball series against England.

“We have arranged this high-profile 50-over competition to provide ample playing opportunities to our best available pool of players for ICC Cricket World Cup 2027 preparations,” Aqib Javed, PCB’s director of high performance, said in a statement posted to the PCB’s website.

“The teams have been assembled keeping in mind the roles of the players in the 50-over game. I wish the best of luck to all the teams and look forward to watching some highly competitive contests in Multan.
