Just a few days after getting a two-year ban from the Pakistan Super League, Zimbabwe fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani has finally spoken about it. The Zimbabwean, who is currently plying his trade for three-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in IPL 2026, put in front the real picture after the ban was issued by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for pulling out of PSL 2026 despite being roped in by Islamabad United.
In a statement shared on X by his agent, they began, “We’ve remained quiet publicly over the last 6 weeks because we did not wish to create or cause anymore animosity for the Pakistan Super League/Pakistan Cricket Board than they had already created for themselves. However, due to the voluminous and disgusting nature of criticism directed at Blessing via social media, I will no longer stay silent.”
Blessing Muzarabani Speaks Out After PSL Ban, Agent Calls It an Administrative Error
“Blessing loves the fans. Everywhere he goes he engages with the public and is generous with his time for the fans. I have seen this gentle giant mature into an exceptional man as well as a world class cricketer. However, to the so called “fans” that fill his social media DM’s with vile hatred, you are an utter disgrace to humanity and you are cowards.”
Blessing Muzarabani’s agent explained the full timeline of what happened and asked the Pakistan Super League to remove the ban. He said that a contract cannot be broken if the player never received it in the first place.
He said, “We feel ANY ban on participation in the PSL is incredibly excessive and is not consistent with the punishment given to players that have actually breached a contract in the past. I have never seen a player so publicly admonished and criticised for doing nothing wrong.”
“We urge the PSL to gracefully withdraw the ban and accept this situation for what it is, an administrative error at their end, nothing more,” the 29-year-old’s agent concluded while clarifying that the player possesses no grudges against PSL or the team.
