Bracewell to lead Lahore Qalandars in GSL 2026- IPL

Bracewell to lead Lahore Qalandars in GSL 2026New Zealand all-rounder Michael Bracewell will lead Pakistan Super League franchise Lahore Qalandars in the upcoming Global Super League, set to begin on July 23.

Five Lahore players retain spots

Bracewell was with the title-winning Peshawar Zalmi this PSL season and has also represented Multan Sultans, though this will be his first time with the Qalandars.

Besides him, Zalmi players, including Farhan Yousaf and Mohammad Basit, will also be part of the side for the GSL. Abdullah Shafique, Usama Mir, Mohammad Naeem, Parvez Hossain Emon, and Shahab Khan are the only players to have retained their spots to represent the team in Guyana.

Qalandars will be without their captain Shaheen Shah Afridi, who will instead be playing in the Lanka Premier League, which will partially overlap with the GSL. Shaheen was left out of Pakistan’s Test squad for the West Indies tour, which is why he made a late entry into the LPL.

Lahore will kick off the proceedings at the GSL against Perth Scorchers at Providence Stadium. This is their second appearance in the league, having been a part of the inaugural edition in 2024, where they finished fourth with two wins and two losses.
