BIJNOR: Fed up of their 32-year-old son’s drug addiction, his parents and younger brother allegedly hired a contract killer for Rs 5 lakh to get him murdered. To arrange advance payment for the murder, the mother also sold her jewellery for Rs 55,000.According to police, Dushyant Kumar of Amroha’s Nasirpur village was found dead in a dry canal near a forested area on Saturday morning.Amroha SP Lakhan Singh Yadav said, “In an intoxicated state, Dushyant used to frequently abuse and assault his parents who are in their 60s. Upset by his action, his brother Sankit along with parents – Peetam Singh and Maya Devi – planned to do something about it and decided to hire Jogendra, a local criminal, for Rs 5 lakh.”Man strangled to death, body dumped in canalOn Friday night, Jogendra, his accomplices along with Sankit strangled Dushyant to death and dumped him in the canal.Suspecting his role in Dushyant’s death, police questioned Sankit and then arrested both him and his father. An FIR was thereafter registered against the parents, son and a local contract killer under BNS section 103(1) (murder).“Maya Devi, Jogendra and two unidentified suspects are at large. The arrested persons have been sent to judicial custody,” Yadav added.
