What Is an IPL Trade?
An IPL trade means a player moves from one team to another without going into the auction.
There are two common types of trades:
IPL 2027 Trade Rules
1. Player Must Agree
A player must agree to the trade before the deal can be completed.
2. Both Teams Must Agree
The player’s current team and the new team must agree to the deal.
3. IPL Approval Is Needed
The trade must be approved by the IPL/BCCI before it becomes official.
4. Overseas Players
Overseas players may need permission or an NOC from their cricket board.
5. Auction Players
Players bought in the IPL 2027 auction are generally not allowed to be immediately traded after the auction.
6. Released Players
If a team releases a player, that player goes into the auction pool. The team cannot simply trade that released player later.
How Does the IPL Trade Process Work?
Step 1: A team chooses a player it wants.
Step 2: The two teams talk about the deal.
Step 3: The player agrees to the move.
Step 4: Both teams agree on the price or player swap.
Step 5: The deal is sent to the IPL for approval.
Step 6: After approval, the player joins the new team.
Biggest IPL 2027 Trade So Far
The biggest confirmed trade so far is the Rishabh Pant and Kuldeep Yadav swap between Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants.

Other big players may also be linked with trades before the auction, but rumours should not be considered confirmed until the IPL officially announces them.
