Late country music icon, Dolly Parton’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, has been vandalised, just a week after her death at age 80.The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced that they are in the process of replacing the damaged star, just as fans continue to pour in to pay tribute to the singer and place their flowers by her star. The Hollywood Historic Trust, which maintains and repairs the stars, wrote in an Instagram post that they are “proud to honor the legacy of Dolly Parton with a replacement of her star. The new star will be available for viewing this Friday.”As per TMZ, videos captured by KNX show a crew replacing the star and lettering after it was allegedly scratched off. The star was dedicated in her honour in 1984. The Hollywood Reporter, states that photos and videos posted online featured dark markings across the singer’s name. A fan even posted a video and said, “When we arrived a custodian was cleaning and told us a woman kicked candles around then with the shards of one scratched the star. Then a man came and stole the flowers that were there.”Ana Martinez, a spokesperson for the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, told TMZ that besides the vandalism, Dolly’s star already had cracks in it, and the chamber had scheduled it for repairs.Dolly Passed away last Tuesday, following a brief battle with cancer. She was surrounded by loved ones at Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center in Nashville when she breathed her last. She was laid to rest in a private funeral, with only family in attendance. As per reports, her final resting place is beside her husband Carl Dean, who passed away in March 2025, at the age of 85.
