Bollywood actor Bobby Deol’s film Bandar finally hit theatres on June 5. Ahead of its release, his half-sister, actor Esha Deol, attended a special screening of the film in Mumbai on Thursday. Following the screening, Esha took to social media to praise Bobby’s performance and encouraged audiences to watch the film in theatres.
Esha Deol praises brother Bobby Deol’s performance in Bandar
On Thursday, Esha shared a picture with Bobby Deol and Tanya Deol on Instagram. Praising her brother’s performance, she wrote, “You are in the best form ever! Undoubtedly the finest actor today. Enduring and vulnerable! Way to go, bhaiya.” She also urged fans to watch the film, adding, “Go watch Bandar!” Bobby later re-shared the post on his Instagram Stories.

The film has been written by Sudip Sharma and Abhishek Banerjee and is inspired by real-life events. Bandar revolves around an ageing television star who is accused of rape by his former girlfriend. The film premiered in the Special Presentations section at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival on September 6, 2025. It also marks the first collaboration between Bobby Deol and Anurag Kashyap. The film was released in theatres on June 5 and has opened to positive reviews from critics. Many have praised Bobby’s performance, calling it one of the strongest of his career.
Speaking about the opportunity to work on the film, Bobby told PTI, “We all dream of playing characters that bring out the best in us, but such opportunities are not easy to come by. The biggest struggle in this industry is to be recognised for one’s true capabilities. I feel really lucky to have got this opportunity.”
Bobby Deol’s upcoming project
Following Bandar, Bobby will be seen in the YRF Spy Universe film Alpha. Directed by Shiv Rawail, the film stars Alia Bhatt, Sharvari and Anil Kapoor in key roles. Alpha is the seventh instalment in Yash Raj Films’ Spy Universe, which includes Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai, War, Pathaan, Tiger 3 and War 2.
Talking about the film, Bobby said, “It’s a cool action film and a complete entertainer. What I enjoyed most about it is that it knows exactly what it wants to be — a film that gives audiences a fun and exciting time at the theatres.” Alpha is scheduled to release in theatres on July 3.
