Jennifer Stone was a familiar face to an entire generation as Harper Finkle, best friend to Selena Gomez’s Alex Russo in ‘Wizards of Waverly Place’, but after the series ended in 2012, she gradually stepped away from acting. A type 1 diabetes diagnosis motivated her to pursue a nursing degree, and she told People in 2024, “I was like, okay, let me pivot from majoring in psychology to majoring in something that I can further understand myself better and what’s going on with my body and also be able to help people.” She is now a registered nurse who also co-hosted the Wizards of Waverly podcast alongside former co-star David DeLuise in 2024.
