In the past couple of weeks, Govinda’s wife, Sunita Ahuja, has made some bombshell allegations against the actor, whom she has been married to since 1987. She has alleged that the star had an extramarital affair with co-star Komal Rani Swarnkar, along with filing a divorce case in 2024 alleging adultery, cruelty, and desertion. However, she has been continuously facing criticism online for her actions. Not only that, but fellow stars like Somy Ali and Poonam Pandey have also verbally supported Govinda over the matter. However, actress Rakhi Sawant seems to be standing by Sunita’s side amid the family feud.During a recent public appearance, the star commented that Sunita could have done many things; however, because of her love for her husband, she stood by his side through everything.
Rakhi Sawant extends her support for Sunita Ahuja
While talking to the media on August 19, Rakhi Sawant commented in support of Sunita Ahuja, telling everyone that she is a great person.In a clip, which has been extensively shared online, the actress said, “Woh bahut achi hai, Govinda ji se pyaar karti hai. Agar woh chahati, toh Govinda ji ko blue drum mein daal sakti thi; woh chahati toh Govinda ji ko pahad pe leke jake dhakka maar sakti thi. Agar woh chahati toh chai me zeher daal sakti thi, agar woh chahati toh unko zinda chunwa sakti thi” (She is a really good person; she loves Govinda ji. If she had wanted to, she could have put Govinda ji in a blue drum; she could have taken him up a mountain and pushed him off. If she had wanted to, she could have poisoned his tea, or even had him walled up alive.)During her talk with the paparazzi, she also claimed that she was the reason behind Ahuja taking back her divorce filing. She stated, “Sunita Ji meri bohot achi dost hai, aap yakeen karlo. Unhone jo divorce waapis liya hai woh mere kehne pe liya hai. Roz mai baat karti hu unse” (Sunita is a very good friend of mine—believe me. She withdrew her divorce petition at my urging. I speak to her every day.)

In another video from the same day, Rakhi called Sunita Ahuja in front of everyone and put the phone on speaker. During their talk, Sawant reassured Sunita that everything would be fine; after which Ahuja made another startling claim about Govinda’s alleged affair. Reportedly, Sunita said on the call: “They were planning to get married”, while referring to Komal as “chicken tikka”.Rakhi Sawant had then replied, “Aap pehle property apne naam karwa lo nahi toh woh (Komal Rani Swarnkar) sab le jayegi” (First get the property transferred into your name, otherwise she will take everything.)
Govinda has denied all allegations and has publicly called out Sunita Ahuja
A few days ago, while talking to the media, the famed actor had publicly called out his wife for using abusive language against him. He had commented, “Sunita ji aap bohot zyada ma behen ki gaaliyan dene lagi hai. Ishwar se aap banaiye ki log aapse prerit ho rahe hain. Youngsters aapse ummeed karte hain ki jis tarah ka aap vyavhar karengi, they will follow it” (Sunita ji, you have started using too many abusive words involving mothers and sisters. Pray to God that people are inspired by you. Youngsters expect that they will follow the way you behave.)Sunita reportedly filed a petition against Govinda on December 5, 2024, at Mumbai’s Bandra Family Court seeking a divorce from the veteran actor. She wanted a dissolution of their marriage on grounds mentioned under the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955. She also alleged in the case that the court alleging adultery, cruelty, and desertion. While not much else is known about the matter between the two beyond the public allegations that have been made online, Ahuja officially withdrew the case this year, two years after filing it in court.
