India Women Beat Bangladesh by 40 Runs to Reach T20 Asia Cup 2026 Final- IPL

India reached the Women’s T20 Asia Cup final after beating Bangladesh by 40 runs in the semi-final in Dubai. They are now through to their sixth final in six editions of the tournament. India were asked to bat first on a slow pitch. Shafali Verma made the most of several chances to score 64 off 40 balls. Her innings helped India post 149 for 6.

Shafali Makes the Most of Her Chances

Shafali was dropped on 6, 11, 50 and 56. She attacked the Bangladesh bowlers after getting those chances. She hit boundaries regularly and helped India make a strong start.

Sultana Khatun created two chances in her first over. Fahima Khatun dropped Shafali at long-on, but Sultana soon removed Smriti Mandhana, who was caught at mid-on by Shorna Akter. Shafali received another life when Nahida Akter could not hold a low catch at mid-on. She then hit Sultana for two sixes in a row. India finished the powerplay on 45 for 1.

Rawal and Harmanpreet Struggle

Pratika Rawal started with a fine off-drive for four and later hit Rabeya Khan for a six. She struggled to score quickly after that and finished with 20 off 24 balls. Harmanpreet Kaur also found it hard to score. She was on 3 off 15 balls at one stage. India managed only 33 runs in seven overs after the powerplay.

Shafali reached her fifty from 35 balls. She got another life when a run-out chance at the bowler’s end was missed. She then hit Sultana for six but was dropped again on the next ball. Shafali was dismissed later in the same over when she hit the ball to long-on. Farjana Easmin took the catch. Richa Ghosh scored 21 off 16, while Deepti Sharma made 13 off six. Harmanpreet finished unbeaten on 24 off 28.

Bangladesh Start Well

Bangladesh openers Juairiya Ferdous and Dilara Akter started positively. Both batters hit two boundaries each in the first three overs. Bangladesh still managed only 18 for no loss after three overs because of the number of dot balls. Harmanpreet then brought spin into the attack from both ends. N Shree Charani bowled a wicket maiden in the final over of the powerplay. She dismissed Ferdous to claim her 50th T20I wicket.

Deepti Sharma Runs Through Bangladesh

Deepti Sharma struck in her first over. Ferdous tried to hit the ball in the air but was caught at deep midwicket. Nigar Sultana and Sobhana Mostary added 31 runs for the third wicket. They needed 34 balls to make those runs.

Deepti broke the stand by bowling Mostary. Bangladesh then lost three wickets for 17 runs in 15 balls. Prema Rawat dismissed Nigar before Deepti bowled Sharmin Akhter. Bangladesh were 83 for 5 in the 16th over.

India Survive Fielding Errors

India failed on the field despite having control over the game. In the opening over of chase, Pratika Rawal missed Dilara at cover point. Later, she also missed Mostary at backward point. Smriti Mandhana also dropped a boundary catch. Richa Ghosh and Nandani Sharma collided while trying to take a catch at square leg. Bangladesh could not make India pay for those mistakes. They finished on 109 for 7, giving India a 40-run win and a place in the Women’s T20 Asia Cup final.
