The Orange and Purple Cap chase in IPL 2026 after match number 34 has become quite thrilling. Virat Kohli stole the show in the game. He notched 81 runs in 44 deliveries and played a crucial role for Royal Challengers Bengaluru to chase down 206 against Gujarat Titans. It was a joy to watch such performances from him.
Kohli also created history in the process. Virat Kohli became the first batsman to notch 800 fours in the history of IPL and the first batsman to hit 300 sixes for a single team in IPL. Kohli also managed to win back the Orange Cap.
Sai Sudharsan also hit a superb century in the first innings and helped his team post a big total. However, the pitch offered enough runs to batmen which meant bowlers found it difficult.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Prasidh Krishna picked some vital wickets though. Anshul Kamboj from Chennai Super Kings, on the other hand, has maintained his purple cap position till now. As you can see everything has become pretty exciting now. A few wickets and runs can make the difference here so things will heat up further.
