Jack Lowden’s latest spotting on the film sets has reignited ‘James Bond’ casting buzz. The actor, who was reportedly the front-runner to play the next 007 after Daniel Craig, returned to the sets of ‘Slow Horses’.The Scottish actor, was spotted filming the eighth season of the Apple TV spy drama, raising fresh questions about whether he is still in the running to take over the iconic British secret agent. According to exclusive footage obtained by The Mail on Sunday, Lowden, 36, was seen filming scenes on rooftops alongside co-star Olivia Cooke for the upcoming season in east London. The scenes were reportedly filmed just a week after the sixth-season finale aired. The sighting comes shortly after the sixth season’s finale left viewers with a cliffhanger ending for his character, River Cartwright, who collapses after coming into contact with a nerve agent left behind by Russian assassins. However, the new photos seem to suggest that he could have survived, thus setting the stage for the next season. However, his possible return to the show has made many question his possible casting as Bond.Lowden has been among the actors tipped to succeed Daniel Craig, as the next 007 after he bowed out of the role in ‘No Time to Die’. The next instalment of the long-running franchise is being developed by Amazon MGM Studios, with ‘Dune’ director Denis Villeneuve stepping in to helm the production. If Lowden is indeed out of the race, other names, including Callum Turner and ‘The Crown’ actor Josh O’Connor, among others are said to be in the running.
