Newly surfaced surveillance footage reportedly captures the man accused of killing veteran actor James Handy calmly walking away from the Los Angeles home where the fatal stabbing took place.
The footage, obtained by FOX 11 Los Angeles, appears to show 44-year-old Michael Gledhill, identified by police as the son of Handy’s girlfriend, walking along a sidewalk shortly after the incident unfolded Thursday morning.
TMZ reported that the video came from a neighbor’s Ring security camera and allegedly shows Gledhill leaving the area before later returning to the property where Handy was stabbed.
Authorities have not publicly verified the contents of the footage, but police have arrested Gledhill in connection with the actor’s death.
Disturbing 911 statement emerges
TMZ also reported that after the stabbing, Gledhill allegedly called 911 and made a chilling confession to dispatchers. “I am the son of man, I just killed the man of sin,” he allegedly told emergency operators, according to the outlet.

The Los Angeles Police Department said Handy was found unconscious outside the residence with a stab wound to the chest. Emergency responders transported him to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Police arrested Gledhill shortly afterward and booked him into LAPD’s Valley jail on a murder charge. TMZ reported that he is currently being held on a $2 million bond.
Investigators have not yet publicly revealed a motive behind the attack.

Handy was a longtime Hollywood character actor whose career spanned decades across film and television. He appeared in several notable productions, including Top Gun: Maverick and Jumanji, earning recognition for his supporting performances over the years.
