Actor and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut has issued a clarification that she will not stand criticism from a bunch of names in Bollywood who have not achieved any success in their respective careers. The actor was seen speaking to the paparazzi on Monday, as she hit back at several celebrities who have made comments on her in the past few months.
What Kangana said
Kangana said, “I see such people every day, whether it is Ashutosh Rana, who says that I bark like a dog; or Sonu Sood, who says that I should learn how to behave. People like Rakhi Sawant, who make all kinds of vulgar comments about my character; and Taapsee Pannu, who keep insulting my parents, my upbringing and my background.”
‘Enough is enough’
She went on to add, “I have only one message for these people. Agar mere saman 1% bhi life mein success nahi kama paaye ho toh main aap ka koi bhi gyaan nahi sunungi. Sab fail, bilkul unwanted log jo hai mujhe jab dekho chaar gaaliyan dete rahte hai (If you haven’t achieved even 1% of my success then I am not interested in hearing your opinions on me. All failed, unwanted people abusing me all the time). They just want to latch on to the media, but first become someone like me. Can you? I am not here to listen to you. These hungry people cannot comment on me and I will not listen to them. Enough is enough. Only those who are more successful than me, I will listen to them.”
In the last few days, Kangana reignited her long-running feud with Taapsee Pannu after the latter commented on her upbringing. In now-deleted Instagram Stories, Kangana called Taapsee a “sasti copy” and accused her of “ridiculing” her upbringing and parents.
She also slammed Baba Ramdev for questioning her character. Sonu Sood had called her ‘Generation Gutter’ remark “very shameful”, saying young people should be spoken about with respect. Rakhi Sawant also slammed her for saying India got independence in 2014.
Kanagan had grabbed headlines a few weeks ago for her comments on the Gen Z and the student protests that took place at Jantar Mantar. She labeled certain young protesters and women as “Generation Gutter,” accusing them of adopting westernized mindsets. Later, Kangana pivoted to praise the Gen Z as India’s biggest strength and ambassadors of the country’s culture and identity.
