Karachi Kings have signed English batter Jason Roy for the remainder of their campaign. The signing comes after the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) called back its players, Khuzaima bin Tanveer and Muhammad Waseem, for national duty. Roy has been roped in as Waseem’s replacement.
Roy’s PSL career
Roy, who had registered himself for PKR 22 million during the PSL auction, earlier went unsold. He has previously represented Lahore Qalandars and Quetta Gladiators in 38 games across six seasons. He played most of his games, 33 in total, for Quetta Gladiators.
In total, he has scored 1260 runs in the league, including two hundreds and eight fifties at a strike rate of 141.34.
Can Karachi transpire a comeback?
Karachi are currently fourth on the points table, having lost two of their five games. The two defeats, however, came in their recent matches, both in the Karachi leg. The game against Peshawar Zalmi, which they lost by 159 runs, significantly impacted their Net Run Rate (NRR) for the worse.
